Storefront

Static banner cards in any grid you can imagine — no theme edits required.

Three feature cards at the top of the page. A category-specific promo under "Drinks". Trust-badge tiles before the footer. A 1/3 + 2/3 split with a hero card and a smaller "Sale" beside it. PromoCards do all of it from one dashboard, with eight grid layouts, three card styles, three heights, and YouTube videos as a swap-in for any image.

What it does

A card builder that drops banner cards into four storefront slots — Page Top, Category Top (under a chosen category title), Category Bottom (after that category's items), and Page Bottom (above the footer). Each group picks a layout (1, 2, 1/3+2/3, 2/3+1/3, 3, 4, 5, or 6 columns), a card style (Stacked image-on-top, Overlay text-over-image, Beside image-on-the-left), a card height (Compact 2:1, Normal 16:9, Tall 3:2), and an optional Mobile Columns override if you don't want the default 1-column collapse. Each card supports title, subtitle, body, separate desktop and mobile images, a button or whole-card-clickable URL, schedule, and per-card active toggle. Drop a YouTube URL into any card and it switches to a privacy-friendly nocookie player — Shorts links auto-render in a 9:16 vertical frame.

Who it's for

Merchants whose storefront does more than list products. Retail showcasing collections, sales, and shipping / returns trust badges. Restaurants spotlighting weekday lunch sets, weekend brunch, and catering. Service businesses with multiple booking categories (treatments, packages, gift vouchers). Real estate / property leading with featured listings. Automotive lining up parts catalogue, service booking, and financing tiles. Anyone who would otherwise pay a designer to hand-edit a homepage.

How it works

  1. Enable PromoCards in Settings > Apps. Open Apps > PromoCards and click Add Group.
  2. Pick the slot (Page Top, Category Top, Category Bottom, Page Bottom), layout (1–6 cols or 1/3+2/3 split), card style (Stacked, Overlay, Beside), height (Compact, Normal, Tall), and any schedule — start / end date, business-hours visibility — then save the group.
  3. Add cards inside the group: image (or YouTube URL), title, subtitle, body, button. Drag to reorder cards within the group; drag groups in the main list to control which renders first when several share a slot.

When to use it

Reach for PromoCards when you want multiple messages visible together — three category shortcuts side by side, a row of trust badges, a hero + supporting card pair. Use Carousels when one rotating hero fits better, and Pop-ups & Banners for must-see interruptive messages (closure dates, age gates, flash-sale coupons).

Frequently asked questions

How is this different from Carousels?

Carousels show one slide at a time at the very top of the storefront and rotate every 5 seconds. PromoCards show all cards at once in a grid and can live in four different slots — top of page, under a category, after a category, or above the footer. Both can be active at the same time without conflict.

Can I put the same group on every page, or only specific categories?

Page Top and Page Bottom run on the storefront homepage / catalog view. Category Top and Category Bottom ask you to pick a specific category — the cards only render on pages where that category is visible. You can stack multiple groups in the same slot (e.g. a 1-col seasonal banner followed by a 3-col category shortcut row) and order them with drag-and-drop on the main list.

Can I use a YouTube video instead of a static image?

Yes — paste any youtube.com/watch, youtu.be, or youtube.com/shorts URL into the Video field on a card. Visitors see a thumbnail with a play button; clicking loads the player. The privacy-friendly nocookie embed means no YouTube cookies are set until they actually click. Shorts links automatically switch the card to a 9:16 vertical frame so portrait videos play at native aspect — useful for recipe clips, before-and-after, quick demos.

Does the layout adapt to phones?

Yes. By default most layouts collapse to one column on mobile, and 5- or 6-column layouts collapse to two columns (since they're usually small icons or trust badges). Override that per group with the Mobile Columns setting — for example, keep a 4-col product highlight at two columns on phones instead of one.

Can I schedule a card?

You schedule the whole group with a start / end date and a "Show When" rule (always, business hours, after-hours). Individual cards have an Active toggle if you want to swap one out without deleting it, but they don't have separate dates — use the group schedule for timed campaigns, or split into two groups if you need different windows.

How big should my images be?

Desktop images are auto-cropped to 1600×900 (16:9). Mobile images are auto-cropped to 800×800. Upload at or above those sizes for crisp results; SVG and WebP files are stored as-is without cropping. Skip the mobile upload and the desktop image is used on every screen.
